Treskavica is mountain in central Bosnia and Herzegovina, situated in Trnovo manicipality, south of Sarajevo.
Treskavica mountain is the highest of the mountains around Sarajevo and one of the most interesting mountains in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It’s highest peak is Paklijas (2086 m a.s.l.) or Caba. There is around 365 water spring on Treskavica mountain with 5 springs of some of the bigger rivers in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Treskavica mountain has 6 lakes and Veliko jezero (Big lake) is the biggest (1550 m a.s.l.). As rare monuments of nature and important for scientific research, the lakes were put under state protection on 1957.
